Privacy policy
Last updated: 1 June 2026
This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we use it, and the rights you have. It is written for an EU/GDPR context.
1. Who we are
AIS Components (aiscomponents.com) is the technical machine-vision catalog of AIS Group. This website and the requests submitted through it are operated by AIS Vision, part of AIS Group. References to "we", "us" or "our" in this policy mean the AIS Group entity acting as data controller for the data you provide here.
For privacy matters, the full registered company details and our data-protection contact are available on request — use the contact options at the end of this policy or the AIS Group website.
2. What data we collect
We only collect the data you choose to give us and a minimal amount of technical data needed to run the site securely.
- Contact and request data you submit through our forms (e.g. "Request technical help", contact): your name, company, email, phone (optional), and the details of your application or enquiry, including any sample images or specifications you choose to attach.
- Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) kept for security and diagnostics, and aggregate, non-identifying usage statistics.
- We do not knowingly collect special categories of personal data, and you should not include them in your enquiries.
3. Why we use it (purposes)
- To respond to your enquiry, prepare a technical recommendation or quote, and validate your machine-vision application.
- To provide hardware selection support and, where relevant, evaluate compatibility with Rosepetal (AI inspection) or an AIS Vision integration project.
- To operate, secure and improve this website.
- To comply with our legal and accounting obligations.
4. Legal basis
Under the GDPR we rely on: your consent and the steps necessary to respond to your request and take pre-contractual steps at your request (Article 6(1)(a)/(b)); our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site and in following up on business enquiries (Article 6(1)(f)); and compliance with legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)).
6. International transfers
Our infrastructure providers may process data in data centres inside the EU and, in some cases, outside the EEA. Where data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry data only as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards to manage the commercial relationship and meet legal obligations, then we delete or anonymise it. Server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes.
8. Your rights
Subject to the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in Ireland, the Data Protection Commission).
10. Contact
To exercise your rights or ask a privacy question, contact us through our contact page or the technical-help request form. We will respond within the timeframe required by law.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The effective date below indicates when it was last revised.
