E3AS-F1000I
The Omron E3AS-F1000I is a compact distance-settable photoelectric sensor in the E3AS-F series that uses time-of-flight (TOF) measurement with a 940 nm infrared Class 1 laser to detect objects from a 50 mm minimum distance out to a teachable set distance of up to 1,000 mm (white paper), independent of target color or surface. It offers a 90 ms maximum response time, NPN or PNP control outputs (100 mA), and IO-Link communication (Ver. 1.1, COM2 38.4 kbps / COM3 230.4 kbps) for fast startup and changeover. The sensor is available in a SUS316L stainless-steel body or a PBT/PC plastic body, both rated IP67/IP67G/IP69K with antifouling lens coatings and Ecolab certification for washdown environments. It operates on 10 to 30 VDC over an ambient temperature range of -20 to 55 C, with the lens made of PMMA.
The Omron E3AS-F1000I is a distance-settable photoelectric sensor that uses time-of-flight (TOF) measurement rather than triangulation or intensity thresholding. It emits a 940 nm infrared Class 1 laser (IEC/EN 60825-1:2014) and times the round-trip of the reflected pulse, so it reports presence based on absolute distance to the target. The teachable set distance spans 100 to 1,000 mm (against white paper) with a 50 mm minimum sensing distance, and because TOF measures distance directly, detection is largely independent of target color and surface finish. In practice that means one sensor can be taught to a single background-suppression threshold and then reliably catch dark, glossy, matte, or mixed-color objects crossing the beam without re-tuning per SKU. The 90 ms maximum response time (operate or reset) places this firmly in the presence-detection and trigger role rather than high-speed counting of fast-moving small parts.
