FLV-DR4415
The FLV-DR4415 is part of Omron's FLV-DR direct ring light series, using high-density LED arrays in a compact aluminum-alloy case for bright, direct illumination of non-specular and area surfaces. It has a 44 mm external ring diameter and a 17 mm internal ring diameter with a 15-degree lighting angle, and the model is offered as FLV-DR4415W (white, 2.7 W), FLV-DR4415R (red, peak 635 nm, 1.7 W), and FLV-DR4415B (blue, peak 465 nm, 2.7 W). The light unit is a passive LED head that connects to and is driven by an Omron lighting controller (FLV-TCC, FLV-ATC, or 3Z4S-LT IDGB series), powered at 24 VDC. An optional diffusion plate is available for more uniform illumination, supporting applications such as PCB component detection, automotive part/print inspection, PET bottle mouth defect inspection, and character/code reading.
The Omron FLV-DR4415 is a direct ring light built around high-density LED arrays in a 44 mm-diameter aluminum-alloy head, with a 17 mm internal opening through which the camera looks. Geometrically it is a direct ring illuminator: the LEDs sit in a ring and project light forward at a 15-degree lighting angle, which is a narrow cone rather than a wide flood. That narrow angle is the defining characteristic. It throws bright, concentrated light straight onto the part and is best suited to non-specular and broadly flat (area) surfaces where you want even, frontal brightness and good feature contrast. Because the ring surrounds the optical axis, it minimizes cast shadows for top-down inspection of features like printed text, component placement, and surface marks.

A practical guide to choosing machine vision lighting: geometry, wavelength, strobe vs continuous, ambient control and how to maximise feature contrast for reliable inspection.
A practical guide to machine vision lighting geometries — ring, bar, backlight, coaxial, dome and dark field — explaining what each reveals, the surfaces it suits, and how to choose the right one directly from your inspection problem.
A practical guide to continuous, strobed, and overdrive LED lighting in machine vision: why a short pulse freezes motion, why overdrive (not strobing alone) adds brightness, how to synchronize the pulse to camera exposure, the duty-cycle limits that protect LED life, and how to size and select a lighting controller.
