DOMB2B1A
The DOMB2B1A is a "cloudy day" dome light that illuminates objects from the camera axis in all directions, producing a large amount of uniform diffuse light that eliminates highlights and shadows on shiny and curved surfaces. It is the biggest dome in the DOM series, measuring 1309 x 1309 x 613 mm with a 1100 mm bottom aperture and weighing 17.5 kg, with a recommended working distance below 50 mm. It operates from 24 VDC in continuous mode (no controller needed) or in strobe mode using a VST-series strobe controller, drawing up to 190 W continuous (108 W for the 850 nm IR version) or 570 W in strobe. It is available in 470 nm blue, 525 nm green, 630 nm red, 850 nm IR and white (W00), with an IP65-rated, anodized-aluminium housing.
The DCM Sistemes DOMB2B1A is the largest member of the DOM "cloudy day" dome family, built around an exceptionally large 1100 mm bottom aperture in a 1309 x 1309 x 613 mm anodized-aluminium housing weighing 17.5 kg. Like all dome geometries, it floods the scene with light that arrives from every direction along and around the camera axis, so the surface under test effectively sits inside a uniformly bright hemisphere. The result is highly diffuse, near-shadowless illumination that suppresses specular highlights and hot spots on shiny, curved, textured, or irregular parts, the conditions that defeat directional bar, ring, and spot lights. At this aperture the dome is intended to wrap large objects, which is why DCM specifies a very short recommended working distance of under 50 mm between the aperture and the part.
