PRY1609A
The PRY1609A is the top-of-range model of DCM Sistemes' PRY direct-light projector series, a large punctual high-power LED projector that produces strong contrast and emphasizes textures, reliefs and fissures on non-reflecting objects by casting directional shadows. It measures 128 x 198 x 22 mm with a 158 x 86 mm active illuminated surface, weighs 805 g, has an IP40-rated anodized aluminium housing and a recommended working distance greater than 50 mm. It runs on 24 VDC via a 2-pole male chassis connector (or a 3-pole iBlueDrive connection) and supports continuous, powered, strobe and iBlueDrive overdrive operating modes; continuous power draw is about 14 W for red (630 nm), blue (470 nm) and IR (850 nm) variants and 19 W for white, with maximum instantaneous strobe consumption up to roughly 90 W. It is offered in UV (365/400 nm), blue (470 nm), green (525 nm), red (630 nm), IR (850/880 nm), white and RGB wavelength options and operates from 0 to 40 degC.
The PRY1609A is the top-of-range model in DCM Sistemes' PRY family of direct-light projectors: a large punctual high-power LED spot rather than a diffuse or coaxial source. Its geometry is the key to reading what it does. As a directional spot illuminating a 158 x 86 mm active surface, it casts light obliquely across a part so that any height variation - texture, relief, embossing, scratches or fissures - throws a shadow toward the camera. That shadow is what generates the high contrast the datasheet promises. This is grazing/directional illumination, the opposite design intent of a flat dome, and it is explicitly tuned for non-reflecting objects where you want to emphasise three-dimensional surface structure rather than suppress it. The default medium angle of emission is the balanced choice, with narrow (/AN), wide (/AW) and diffuse (/AD) variants available to widen or soften the cone for a given field of view.
