BKL1010A
The BKL1010A has a 100x100 mm active diffusing surface in a 116x106x22 mm housing weighing 305 g, rated IP40 (IP65 available as a factory modifier). It is powered at 24 VDC (PIN1 = +24V +/-3%, PIN2 = 0V) through a 2-pin male chassis connector. In continuous mode (Type C) maximum consumption is 4.8 W white, 7.7 W blue (470 nm), 6.1 W green (525 nm), 7 W red (630 nm) and 10 W IR (850 nm); strobe (Type S) and overdrive/powered (Type i, via the DCM iBlueDrive controller) operating modes are also available, with monochromatic 470/525/630/850 nm, white and RGB LED options.
The BKL1010A is a posterior diffuse backlight: a 100x100 mm evenly diffusing emitting surface that sits behind the part so the camera sees the object as a dark silhouette against a bright, uniform field. This bright-field, back-illuminated geometry is the classic technique for measuring outlines and detecting presence/absence rather than surface texture. Because the light passes around (or through translucent) parts and the diffuser smooths out hot spots, edges resolve as crisp, high-contrast transitions, which is exactly what subpixel edge-finding and blob tools need for repeatable dimensional gauging. It does not reveal surface defects, engraving or topography on the camera-facing side; for that you would use front, dome or low-angle lighting instead. The 100x100 mm window sets the practical limit on part size, so the feature or silhouette you are measuring should fit comfortably inside that active area with margin for part movement.
