PLC1648D
The PLC1648 is the 16-LED member of DCM Sistemes' PLC series of compact linear-light projectors, housed in an IP65 anodized-aluminium body measuring 480 x 39 x 34.5 mm and weighing about 1070 g. It is a direct/projector-type bar light that produces strong contrast to emphasize textures, reliefs and fissures, with a recommended working distance above 50 mm and selectable emission angle (narrow/medium/wide/diffuse modifiers). The light integrates DCM's built-in iBlueDrive intelligent driver, which auto-detects the input signal and operates in continuous, powered (overdrive) or strobe modes; it is powered from 24 VDC via a 3-pin aerial connector. Standard versions are offered across UV (365 nm), blue (470 nm), green (525 nm), red (630 nm), IR (850 nm) and white (W00), with continuous (Type C) consumption up to 24 W and iBlueDrive peaks up to 48 W.
The DCM Sistemes PLC1648D is the 16-LED member of the PLC series of compact linear-light projectors, packing 16 high-intensity emitters into a 480 x 39 x 34.5 mm anodized-aluminium bar that weighs about 1070 g. Functionally it is a direct/projector-type bar light: rather than washing the scene with soft, even light, it throws a strong, directional beam over a 473 x 25 mm active illuminated area. That high-contrast, directional illumination is what makes textures, surface relief, fissures and fine defects stand out, which suits long, narrow inspection zones and line-scan acquisition.

A practical guide to machine vision lighting geometries — ring, bar, backlight, coaxial, dome and dark field — explaining what each reveals, the surfaces it suits, and how to choose the right one directly from your inspection problem.
A practical guide to continuous, strobed, and overdrive LED lighting in machine vision: why a short pulse freezes motion, why overdrive (not strobing alone) adds brightness, how to synchronize the pulse to camera exposure, the duty-cycle limits that protect LED life, and how to size and select a lighting controller.
